Rocket Lab will try to recover the first stage of its Electron rocket with a parachute shortly after a launch Thursday night carrying 30 small commercial and educational payloads into low Earth orbit from New Zealand. Liftoff is set for 8:46 p.m. EST Thursday (0146 GMT Friday).
